Sannyasi Pragyadhara trained extensively in India and Australia living with and learning directly from her Guru – Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati. She completed a Masters in Yoga Psychology through Bihar School of Yoga in India and is dedicated to upholding the yoga parampara – tradition through imparting classical based practices and lifestyle integration – living the 8 limbs of Yoga.
Her teaching experience includes specialised programs for diverse populations in different cultural settings, including yoga for corporate, orphans, physically challenged and nursing staff in India. Yoga in prisons in Auckland, NZ (YPET faculty member). Training and mentoring Yoga Teachers, mentoring for transformation and holistic health and working one to one addressing individual client needs. She spends time every year in India re-immersing herself, maintaining the link with the parampara – tradition and offering service -karma yoga. She is currently the course Director of the Yoga Teachers Training at Kawai Purapura Yoga retreat, RYS Yoga Alliance, U.S.
To me…. Yoga is simplicity with depth. The practices when approached with clarity in intention are powerful techniques for transformation. Integration in daily life and application of the principles are what bring the deepest shifts and lasting happiness.
She has produced audio recordings and written material to support continuity in self- practice and for those who require resources they can easily implement in daily life; these include a range of specific breathing practices, Yoga Nidra – deep relaxation and meditation, ‘making friends with the mind meditations’ and a home practice support booklet. She is currently developing further resources.
Session 1: Friday 7 – 8.30pm, Yogashala –– Meditations from the Tantras,
Sanskrit mantras and offerings from nature will be used to set the practice space. Once the doorway of receptivity is opened – Ajna chakra, the journey can begin into the deeper layers of body/mind.
Uniting the forces of breath, awareness and mantra the practitioners will be guided through the chakras to purify, balance and awaken them. Explore in a safe and nurturing environment through a grounded and systematic approach. A series of 3 meditation techniques will be covered with breaks for discussion and questions after each. Release negativity, awaken inner freedom, positivity and joy through meditation. Limited to 30 places. Ajapajapa, antar mouna and Yoga nidra and aum chanting.
Session 2: Prana and pranayama – Exclusive
Practice immersion workshop. Unlike other offerings I will share this one is specific and tailored for experienced yoga and breathwork practitioners, Yoga teachers and aspirants seeking to go deeper into pranayama techniques. Practices are layered with mudras and bandhas and create a powerful matrix to instigate change. Pranayama practices include; kapalbhati, Ujjaiyi, Bastrika and alternate nostril breathing layered with mudras and bandhas. Mantras to stimulate the psychic body. Receive inspirational takeaways to deepen your practice. Screening with the teacher 30mins prior to the start at the Kawai Purapura Yoga Teachers Training stall. Come on an empty stomach – no food 2 – 3 hrs prior. Allow time in silence afterwards for grounding and integration.
Session 3: Saturday, 7.30 – 9pm: Pagoda.
